Joey Bosa Released by Chargers

Joey Bosa became a free agent for the first time in his NFL career when he was released by the Los Angeles Chargers after nine years with the team.
It’s been heavily rumored that Bosa will join his younger brother Nick with the San Francisco 49ers. Tim Kawakami of the San Francisco Standard reported Sunday that “good conversations” are taking place between Bosa and the 49ers.
Meanwhile, I've heard Joey Bosa and 49ers are having good conversations and this feels like it's headed toward a deal.
— Tim Kawakami (@timkawakami) March 9, 2025
Nothing is done, but the Bosa brothers want to be together and probably will get there this year. Which likely means this will be a moderate deal + incentives.
The Miami Dolphins also reportedly have “strong interest” in Bosa, per The Athletic’s Dianna Russini.
While the idea of playing with his brother Nick in San Francisco appeals to Joey Bosa, he is expected to garner strong interest from the Dolphins, per source.
