We've finally reached that time of the year for preseason All-American teams.

Seven Ohio State players earned recognition from national college football writer Phil Steele's All-American teams, tied with Georgia for the most selections of any program in the nation.

Steele's All-American teams were published in his popular annual magazine, with the online edition available on his website and the print edition coming to shelves by July 4. The magazine features more than 350 pages of data and statistics.

  S Caleb Downs
  CB Denzel Burke

Offensive lineman Donovan Jackson and defensive tackle Tyleik Williams were Ohio State's first-team selections and should be poised for big seasons in 2024. Jackson has started 26 games at guard for Ohio State, all consecutively as he started every game in his sophomore and junior seasons the past two years and only allowed one sack last season. Williams was one of the best defensive tackles in all of college football, recording 53 tackles with 10 tackles for loss, a fumble recovery for a touchdown, three sacks and five pass breakups across 13 games.

Running back TreVeyon Henderson, defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau, safety Caleb Downs and cornerback Denzel Burke were all second-team selections.

A first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2023, Henderson accumulated 1,083 yards from scrimmage and ran for 11 touchdowns in nine regular-season games. Tuimoloau collected 38 tackles, seven tackles for loss, five sacks and two pass breakups across 13 appearances in 2024 for the Buckeyes. Downs was the top transfer player on the market in December and comes to Ohio State after recording 107 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, four pass breakups, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery as a freshman. Burke returns after collecting an impressive nine pass breakups with 24 tackles, three tackles for loss, one interception and one forced fumble.

Finally, Emeka Egbuka earned third-team honors after he caught 41 passes for 515 yards and four touchdowns in 2023 despite missing three games due to injury.

Ohio State had seven preseason All-Americans, tied with Georgia for the most selections. Alabama sat second with six selections, Oklahoma State had five players represented, while Oregon, Michigan and Notre Dame each had four players featured.
