Ohio State has another College Football Hall of Famer.
Former Ohio State left tackle Chris Ward was named Monday as a member of the College Football Hall of Fame’s class of 2024, becoming the 28th former Ohio State football player to be selected for enshrinement in the College Football Hall of Fame.

Ward is one of Ohio State’s all-time great offensive linemen, earning first-team All-Big Ten honors in all three of his seasons as Ohio State’s starting left tackle (1975-77). He was also a two-time first-team All-American, earning consensus recognition in 1976 and unanimous recognition in 1977, and a team captain for the 1977 Buckeyes.
The Buckeyes won Big Ten championships during each of his three seasons as a starter, going 29-6-1 between those three years.
Selected by the New York Jets with the No. 4 overall pick in the 1978 NFL draft, Ward went on to play in the NFL for seven seasons, starting 95 games.
