Following the 45-12 triumph over Arkansas State at home yesterday, Ohio State retained its position at No. 3 overall in both of the newest AP and USA TODAY Coaches Polls.

Alabama fell to No. 2 in the AP Poll following their close win on the road over Texas yesterday, in which former Ohio State quarterback Quinn Ewers left the game prior to the end of the first quarter. While Georgia stands as the new top team in the AP Poll, the Crimson Tide somewhat surprisingly held on to the top spot in the USA TODAY Coaches poll by a margin of 14 votes over their SEC counterparts. The Buckeyes themselves earned one first-place vote.

After staying in the top-10 following a loss to Ohio State last week, Notre Dame fell all the way out of both polls in wake of a loss to Marshall in the Fighting Irish's home opener. Michigan held steady at No. 4 in the AP and No. 5 in the Coaches Polls after failing to cover the spread against Hawaii in the Wolverines' 56-10 win.

Wisconsin also fell out of each poll's top-25 after a 17-14 loss to Washington State, which means the Buckeyes' next game against a ranked opponent will not take place until a road trip to East Lansing against Michigan State in October. The Spartans climbed three spots in the AP Poll up to No. 11 and two spots in the Coaches Poll up to No. 9 after a 52-0 shutout over Akron this past weekend.

The biggest movers in the latest AP Poll were Kentucky climbing 11 spots up to No. 9 overall after their 26-16 win on the road over now-No. 18 Florida, while Texas A&M fell 18 spots from No. 6 to No. 24 after their 17-14 defeat at home to Appalachian State.

As for the most significant changes in the Coaches Poll, BYU gained 11 spots to rise to No. 14 following a late-night win over now-No. 19 Baylor, while the Aggies fell 16 spots to No. 22.
