Urban Meyer is likely heading to Jacksonville, but Mickey Marotti is not.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly nearing a deal to make Meyer their next head coach, leading to natural questions about which – if any – members of his support staff at Ohio State would follow their former boss to the NFL.

It seems Marotti – known as Meyer's right-hand man during his stints at both Florida and Ohio State – will not be joining him at the next level as the Columbus Dispatch reported that Marotti will remain with the Buckeyes even if Meyer does take the Jaguars job.

Marotti is widely considered one of the top strength and conditioning coaches in the country and is one of the most vital members of the Ohio State coaching staff, perhaps behind only head coach Ryan Day in terms of importance.

Outside of Marotti, there are a few other holdovers from Meyer's tenure at Ohio State who still hold key roles at Ohio State, including director of player personnel Mark Pantoni and director of player development Ryan Stamper – both Florida natives who came with Meyer to Columbus.

Many assistants on Ohio State's coaching staff also have ties to Meyer. Kerry Coombs, Brian Hartline, Tony Alford, Kevin Wilson and Greg Studrawa all coached for at least one season under Meyer at Ohio State. Greg Mattison was an assistant to Meyer at Florida for three years. Quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis is Meyer's son-in-law.

It's still largely unknown what Meyer's coaching staff will look like in Jacksonville or who  might join him from Columbus, especially since he has not yet been formally hired, but we do know Marotti will be staying in Columbus.
