Justin Fields is confident he'll be ready to go against Clemson.

After injuring his thumb in Ohio State's Big Ten Championship game win over Northwestern, Justin Fields believes he will be ready to go for Friday's College Football Playoff semifinal against Clemson.

"I'll be good by Friday night," Fields told the media on Monday.

Fields said after the Big Ten title game that believed he sprained his throwing thumb in the second half against Northwestern and that due to the stiffness he "really couldn't throw the ball."

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day echoed Fields' comments later in the press conference, saying, "I think he'll be fine.”

Fields entered last year's semifinal game against Clemson banged up, as well, after injuring his knee against Penn State and aggravating the injury against Michigan the following week.

Ahead of last year's game,  however, Fields was less optimistic about his injury status, saying his knee was "probably not where I want it to be right now," less than a week before the game.
