Michael Thomas' performance in the New Orleans Saints' win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday was award-winning.

After catching 12 passes and breaking the Saints' single-game record with 211 receiving yards on Sunday, when the Saints defeated the Los Angeles Rams 45-35 to hand the Rams their first loss of the year, Thomas was named Wednesday morning as the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Thomas' record-breaking performance was highlighted by a 72-yard receiving touchdown in the fourth quarter, after which he paid a memorable homage to former Saints receiver Joe Horn by pulling out a flip phone from underneath the goalpost and pretending to make a call.

Eight games into his third season in the NFL, Thomas has already caught 70 passes for 880 yards and five touchdowns, putting the former Ohio State wide receiver on pace to rewrite the Saints' single-season record books.
