John Simon will go down as one of the best defensive linemen in Ohio State history, but he will also be remembered as perhaps the best leader the Buckeyes have ever had.

Ohio State's football program paid homage to Simon's 2012 season with a tribute video on Thursday, which was tweeted out from Urban Meyer's Twitter account. You can watch the video above.

Simon, along with a handful of other seniors, decided to return to Ohio State for their final season in Columbus despite being ineligible for the postseason. Simon, a team captain, played through multiple injuries during his final season, before a knee injury ultimately kept him from playing on Senior Day against Michigan.

The video highlights Simon's toughness and resilience from Ohio State's 12-0 campaign, including interviews from Zach Boren and Mike Vrabel, as well as locker room footage from before and after the Buckeye's win over the Wolverines in 2012.

It is the second such video Ohio State has released in recent weeks paying tribute to the 2012 team. You can watch the first one, which featured Boren and others here
