Former Ohio State quarterback turned NFL wide receiver Terrelle Pryor officially became a member of the New York Jets on Sunday, when the team announced that it had signed the former Buckeye to a contract.

In a video posted to the Jets' official Twitter account, Pryor said he is "so happy to be a part of this organization and this team" and "it's time to get to work."

Terms of Pryor's contract with the Jets have not been disclosed.

Pryor joins the Jets after one season with the Washington Redskins, with whom he caught 20 passes for 240 yards and one touchdown in nine games before undergoing season-ending ankle surgery. Before the Redskins, Pryor spent two seasons with the Cleveland Browns, catching 77 passes for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns in a breakout 2016 season.

According to a report by Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com, Pryor wanted to return to the Browns and play for coach Hue Jackson again, but the Jets offered Pryor "far more money than the Browns were willing to pay."

Pryor will be reunited with Josh McCown, who was with the Browns in 2015 and 2016 and will compete to be the Jets' starting quarterback in 2018 with Teddy Bridgewater and presumably, a rookie quarterback after the Jets traded up for the No. 3 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft earlier this month.

Pryor is now one of three wide receivers on the Jets' roster from Ohio State – though Devin Smith and Jalin Marshall likely both face an uphill battle to make the Jets' regular-season roster – and one of four total Buckeyes on the Jets' roster, along with Darron Lee.
