When I was a kid, I was an unabashed believer in crop circles. Part of this was due to my obsession with the X-Files, but part of is was that I really, really wanted to believe that aliens would come to this woebegotten planet and do nothing but draw weird designs in corn fields just to mess with us. It'd be extremely awesome and cool, but unfortunately crop circles aren't A Thing (unless you count bored college kids with some planks of wood and rope A Thing).

I kind of feel the same way about Nebraska football as I did about crop circles. I love the idea of the Huskers being a power in football. I like to pretend that a game against them, especially on the road and at night, takes on some kind of special significance and difficulty because of what Nebraska football represents.

And... well, none of that applies anymore. Ever since Joe Bauserman, Nebraska has been utterly hapless against the Buckeyes (and most other teams). The mystique is gone. It may not ever come back.

WHAT'S A GOOD MOOD TO HAVE AFTER THIS W?

THE REST

And that'll wrap it up for this week. Up next: fun in the sun, because it's time for a bye week! And then: REVENGE.
