For the first time since the season started, a number of Ohio State freshmen had their black stripes removed on Thursday.

One of those freshmen was Baron Browning, a five-star linebacker from Kennedale, Texas, who was ranked as one of the top recruits in Ohio State's 2017 class.

Browning played six snaps in Ohio State's season opener at Indiana and recorded two tackles in that game, but has not seen any playing time on defense since. He is currently listed as the third-team middle linebacker on the Buckeyes' depth chart behind Chris Worley and Tuf Borland, but could be a candidate to see playing time this Saturday against UNLV, as Worley is questionable for this week's game with a sprained foot.

A total of four Ohio State freshmen lost their black stripes on Thursday, including guard Josh Myers and wide receivers Jaylen Harris and Garyn Prater, bringing the total of black stripes lost for the freshman class to 20.
