A.J. Hawk is no longer a Cincinnati Bengal.

Sirius XM's Alex Marvez first reported on Tuesday the Cincinnati Bengals will release former Ohio State linebacker A.J. Hawk, whom the franchise signed last year as a free agent after he spent the first nine seasons of his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers.

Hawk, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2005 draft and Super Bowl XLV champion, appeared in 16 games last season for the Bengals. He finished with 16 solo tackles and one sack, which were career lows in both categories by a wide margin.

Hawk was set to make $1.4 million this season.
