Chris Henry Jr. committed to Ohio State in July 2023 and shut down his recruitment in April 2025. However, in the aftermath of Brian Hartline's decision to become USF's next head coach, Henry has not yet signed with the Buckeyes. Instead, the five-star receiver is still weighing his options, he said Wednesday on X.
I have not signed yet. Still trying to weigh my options due to coaching changes I just want to make the right decision for my future.

Gods plan
Hartline's impending departure from Columbus has already had ramifications for Ohio State's 2026 class, as both Kayden Dixon-Wyatt and Legend Bey have flipped their commitments to USC and Tennessee. Fellow wide receiver commit Jerquaden Guilford also remained unsigned as of 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Henry's decommitment would be a significant blow to the Buckeyes, as he's both the top wide receiver and prospect in the program's 2026 class. He had hats for Ohio State, Oregon and USC at his signing ceremony, where he chose the Buckeye cap but did not officially submit a scholarship agreement to Mark Pantoni and his staff.
Henry is the No. 1 wide receiver and No. 10 overall prospect in the 2026 class. If he signs with Ohio State, he would be the fourth No. 1-ranked receiver to sign with the Buckeyes since 2020 (Julian Fleming, Emeka Egbuka and Jeremiah Smith).
The son of late NFL wide receiver Chris Henry, Henry Jr. has all the tools to be the Buckeyes’ next superstar receiver. He possesses elite athleticism and ball skills at 6-foot-5 and 205 pounds, and he would be a contender to play a significant role in Ohio State’s offense as a freshman alongside Jeremiah Smith and others.
