It appears that Ohio State will get a shot to keep three-star defensive tackle Jamir Perez home, after all.
The 2026 Glenville product will still take an official visit to Columbus this month despite his pledge to Florida, according to 247Sports.
Perez will be at Ohio State on June 13-15, the same weekend his high school teammate, four-star linebacker Cincere Johnson, is scheduled to visit. Per the report, Perez may also take official visits to other schools, including Wisconsin, Iowa State, Purdue and perhaps Alabama.
Larry Johnson offered Perez in April following his visit to Ohio State for the spring game, then Perez committed to the Gators on May 18. The fact that Perez is still open to visiting Ohio State indicates it may be difficult for Florida to get Perez to sign in December and there’s still a decent chance he could end up with the Buckeyes.
If OSU can land Perez, it would keep the Glenville to Ohio State pipeline alive, with Arvell Reese, Bryce West and Damarion Witten joining the Buckeyes in recent recruiting classes. Ohio State would like to pair Perez with Johnson and his other high school teammate D’Angelo White (2027 tight end) as well.
In the meantime, Ohio State made four intriguing offers to prospects in the 2027 class, all ranked within the top 100 prospects of in the class, in the past few days. There will be more offers to come over the next week or so, considering the Buckeyes kick off their first one-day recruiting camp of the summer on Thursday. Eleven Warriors will have plenty of coverage from Thursday’s camp and all that follows, but in the meantime, we’ll break down each of the three offers given to top-100 prospects this week below.
