Larry Johnson has offered one of the top defensive linemen in the 2027 recruiting class.

Four-star Alabama prospect Donivan Moore picked up the offer from Johnson on Monday as Ohio State continues to extend offers on the recruiting trail in the open period.

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Moore is considered the No. 46 prospect and No. 3 defensive lineman in the 2027 class. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound standout has earned 16 Division I offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Mizzou, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, USC, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.

Emanuel Ruffin picks up Buckeyes offer

Moore wasn’t the only Alabama defensive lineman earning an offer from the Buckeyes on Monday. Johnson also offered three-star prospect Emanuel Ruffin, a three-star prospect in the 2026 class.

Ruffin is the latest addition to an already lengthy target board for Johnson in the 2026 class. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound prospect is expected to play defensive tackle at the collegiate level. The Alabama product is the No. 451 overall player in the nation and the No. 48-rated defensive lineman.

Currently, Ruffin has official visits set with Alabama, Tennessee, Florida and LSU.

In his junior season, Ruffin recorded 51 tackles, two tackles for loss and a fumble recovery.

Future and present Buckeyes get together

Death, taxes and Brian Hartline landing elite wide receivers, right? Ohio State got some good news on the recruiting front on Sunday, as it landed the commitment of four-star California wideout Kayden Dixon-Wyatt. Dixon-Wyatt is the fourth and potentially final wide receiver commit in OSU’s 2026 class, as the Buckeyes will have another strong contingent of wideout additions in Columbus yet again next season.

Two of those wide receivers were hanging around and working out with a slew of current Buckeyes, as well. Dixon-Wyatt posted a photo Monday of he and his high school teammate and fellow Ohio State commit Chris Henry Jr. hanging out with current Buckeye quarterbacks Julian Sayin and Lincoln Kienholz and pass-catchers Max Klare, Jeremiah Smith, Brandon Inniss, Carnell Tate, Mylan Graham, David Adolph and Nolan Baudo in California.

While Dixon-Wyatt and Henry won’t suit up for the Buckeyes until next season, they’ve already started getting some reps in with their future teammates.

Landon Barnes puts OSU on his top eight

An Ohio State defensive end target in the 2026 class is (slightly) starting to narrow down his recruitment. Four-star Texas prospect Landon Barnes released his top eight schools on Sunday, which consisted of OSU, Georgia, Ole Miss, LSU, SMU, Washington, Texas and Arizona State.

Barnes visited Columbus for the Buckeyes’ spring game on April 12 and has an official visit set with the Buckeyes for June 20. Other schools Barnes has set visits to include Georgia, Arizona State, Ole Miss and Washington.

Barnes is rated the No. 150 prospect and No. 16 edge rusher in the 2026 class.

Derek Colman-Brusa commits to Washington

A different Ohio State defensive lineman target in the 2026 cycle is off the board. Four-star Washington prospect Derek Colman-Brusa opted to stay home on Sunday, committing to his hometown Washington Huskies.

Ohio State made a push for Colman-Brusa and the 6-foot-5, 257-pound prospect visited campus for the Buckeyes’ spring game on April 12. Ultimately, Washington led throughout most of Colman-Brusa’s recruitment, so the commitment to the Huskies isn’t all that surprising. With Colman-Brusa no longer in the fold, the Buckeyes will now turn to other options.
