One of Ohio State’s top remaining defensive tackle targets is ready to make a decision.

Four-star Florida prospect Jayden Jackson has scheduled his commitment for 5 p.m. Thursday and will choose from a final five of Texas, Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Miami.

A few days ahead of the announcement, there’s no clear frontrunner for Jackson as of now, but Ohio State and Texas have seemingly positioned themselves the best of his remaining five teams.

While Jackson, who was offered by OSU on Jan. 11, currently resides in Florida and plays for IMG Academy, he's originally from Brownsburg, Indiana, and has publicly spoken about the desire to play in the Midwest.

“Just playing close to my family, and at a place that I’ve always wanted to go to since I was a kid,” Jackson told Eleven Warriors in January about the most appealing thing about potentially playing for Ohio State.

The 6-foot-2, 300-pound Jackson has visited OSU numerous times, including last April for the Buckeyes' spring game and on June 9 for his official visit.

“I’ve been there multiple times and I was hoping that would be a school I eventually got an offer to,” Jackson said of getting his OSU offer. “I’ve liked them ever since I was a kid. They’ve always been a college that shines, them winning the championship (in 2014) when I was a kid definitely piqued my interest.”

Spillman down to OSU and Tennessee, sets commitment date

The Buckeyes’ top two remaining linebacker targets are set to make decisions this month, two days apart. Last week, four-star California prospect Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa announced he’ll make a decision on July 23. Meanwhile, four-star Tennessee prospect Edwin Spillman will commit on July 21 and will choose from his final two schools, Ohio State and Tennessee.

Spillman was offered by the Buckeyes entering his sophomore season, and has made numerous visits to Columbus over the past few years, including his June 9 official visit to OSU. But considering Spillman resides in Tennessee and his older brother, Nate Spillman, is entering his freshman season with the Volunteers, most in the national recruiting industry expect Spillman to choose his hometown team when he makes his commitment late next week.

Ffrench reveals final five

A talented wide receiver in the class of 2025 has narrowed down his choices to five schools ahead of his commitment date. Five-star Florida product Jaime Ffrench put out a final five Sunday consisting of Ohio State, Penn State, Florida State, Alabama and Notre Dame.

Ffrench, who will commit at 2 p.m. on July 22, is considered an Alabama lean by national recruiting analysts. But with his commitment coming a year-and-a-half prior to his cycle’s National Signing Day, it’s a good bet to assume this recruitment won’t be over even once he makes a commitment.

Zabien Brown chooses Alabama

An Ohio State cornerback target in the 2024 class is off the board. Four-star California cornerback Zabien Brown committed to Alabama on Sunday, picking the Crimson Tide over Ohio State and USC.

Brown visited OSU twice in the spring then later took an official visit in June, but the Buckeyes seemed to lose momentum in that recruitment heading into the summer. OSU has two cornerbacks committed in 2024 in Miles Lockhart and Bryce West, and the Buckeyes are hoping to add four-star Ohio product Aaron Scott to that mix on July 30.
