Ohio State five-star wide receiver commitment Jeremiah Smith is now considered the No. 1 recruit in the nation in On3's updated Industry Rankings, a recruiting service ranking players through a combination of the four major recruiting services' rankings.

Smith leapfrogged former Ohio State quarterback commit Dylan Raiola for the No. 1 spot after On3 released the network's own individual re-ranking of the nation's top prospects. While Smith stayed as the No. 2 overall player nationally in On3's rankings, Raiola fell to No. 11. The standout wideout from Florida is considered the No. 2 player in the country by On3, 247Sports and Rivals, while ESPN has him ranked ninth. Missouri defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri was slotted in as the new No. 1 recruit in the country in On3's own rankings.

Per On3, the On3 Industry Ranking weighs the primary recruiting media services based on past performance data and overall scouting and recruiting coverage investment. The algorithm is weighted in an uneven format, factoring in On3's rankings 35 percent, 247Sports 35 percent, Rivals' 20 percent and ESPN 10 percent.

On3's new rankings came one day after Raiola hinted on an Instagram post that he was trying to help flip Smith from Ohio State to Georgia, before Smith himself laughed off that comment on social media.

Three OSU commits are in the On3 Industry Ranking top 20, with Smith slotting in at No. 1, five-star defensive tackle Justin Scott coming in at No. 12 and five-star wideout Mylan Graham earning the No. 16 spot. Those same prospects were given five-star status in On3's individual rankings, with Smith at No. 2, Scott at No. 5 and Graham at No. 12.
