One of Ohio State's biggest remaining targets in the 2024 class has set a commitment date.

Four-star Ohio cornerback Aaron Scott told On3 Thursday he's set a commitment date on July 30, his father's birthday. Scott is down to three teams: Ohio State, Michigan and Oregon.

Scott has taken an official visit to all three of his finalists, with the Buckeyes getting the final visit last weekend. For months, Michigan and Ohio State have been battling it out to land the coveted Ohio prospect, in a recruitment that still seems too close to call right now.

“They talk about each other all the time,” Scott said in May of Ohio State and Michigan. “Talking about they don't want me to go there. They’re definitely competitive and preach on going to their schools.”

Scott has said publicly he'd like to play with Ohio cornerback Bryce West in college, and if that sentiment remains true, that would be good news for OSU fans. West committed to OSU during his official visit last weekend and said he plans on recruiting Scott to OSU between now and his commitment date.

“I’m definitely recruiting him,” West said of Scott. “I’m just trying to get him there. He’s definitely an Ohio kid, so I definitely want him to play at Ohio State because he’s a great player."

Landing Scott would give OSU an elite one-two in-state punch at cornerback, as both West and Scott are considered top-55 prospects nationally in 247Sports' composite rankings.
