One day before he started his official visit to Ohio State, four-star 2024 offensive tackle Ian Moore was already in Columbus.

The Ohio State commit wanted to sharpen his skills and have the opportunity to work with offensive line coach Justin Frye, so he spent several hours honing his skills at the Buckeyes' first recruiting camp on Thursday. It was at a similar camp a year ago that Moore earned his offer from OSU after an impressive individual workout, and since then, the future scarlet and gray offensive lineman has improved his physique. The New Palestine, Indiana, resident said he now weighs between 305 to 310 pounds and truly looks the part of a future offensive tackle. Moore camped with fellow OSU offensive line commit Marc Nave, who also took his official visit this weekend.

“The camp was so I could get some time with Frye in,” Moore said. “I’m gonna be back on Wednesday for the same reason. Marc is a great player and so it was really good to get some work in for my possible future guard. I’ve actually gained some weight since last year so I’m sitting at around 305-310, really just depends on the day.”

Moore spent a good amount of time with several of his fellow commits on his OSU official visit, including Nave, Devontae and Deontae Armstrong, Sam Williams-Dixon, James Peoples and Garrett Stover.

“You know it was just great getting to see the guys,” Moore told Eleven Warriors of the official visit. “I’ve gotten just about every experience you can have going on visits since I’ve been here like 12 times but spending time with the guys and getting to recruit other people was great.”

Moore has already had countless conversations with Frye, but the Indiana product met with his future offensive line coach again this week and discussed how he can improve his fundamentals before the start of his senior season.

One of Ohio State’s biggest priority offensive line targets in the 2024 class, four-star offensive tackle Brandon Baker, was also taking an official visit to Columbus this weekend. Moore, along with Nave and the Armstrong twins, certainly didn’t hesitate to try to sell Baker on OSU.

“It was great,” Moore said of his interaction with Baker. “We were together for most of the time and we were just chatting and building our relationships. Brandon is a great kid. He’s got a great family and that’s what’s important. All these other places they might offer you a million dollars but they can’t offer the brotherhood and experiences that we have.”

Moore also briefly visited with OSU target Jayden Jackson, a three-star defensive tackle. While Jackson currently lives in Florida, he’s originally from Brownsburg, Indiana, and Moore wanted to chat up a fellow Hoosier State native.

“Jayden is an Indiana kid so we’ve got that in common, so it’s been great talking to him,” Moore said. “Most of the defensive guys weren’t with us so I didn’t get to talk to him as much as I’d like, but every time we did talk it was a good conversation.”

Moore will be back at OSU on Wednesday for another camp and a chance to work with Frye on improving his technique before his senior season.
