It didn't take long for Jack Wohlabaugh to consider his last scholarship offer. The Stow, Ohio, offensive lineman committed to Urban Meyer and Ed Warinner on the spot this morning, the day of Ohio State's spring football game.

The Wohlabaugh File

  • Class: 2016
  • Size: 6-3/280
  • Pos: OG
  • School: Walsh Jesuit (Stow, OH)
  • Composite Rating: ★★★
  • Composite Rank: 29

On Thursday, Wohlabaugh was not sure what he'd do if the Buckeyes offered, but it appears the choice was not all that difficult for him to make.

"Ohio State is a great program," Wohlabaugh told Eleven Warriors. "They've got a great staff who I've gotten to talk to frequently and even better, it's in Ohio. Whatever decision I make, it'd definitely be an informed one. It's an offer I'd love to have and I'd have to consider it deeply."

The visit to Ohio State rounded out a busy week for the Walsh Jesuit star. He visited Michigan and Michigan State both, but it was the chance to play for the Buckeyes that proved hardest to turn down. Michigan, Kentucky, Boston College, Minnesota, Syracuse and others have all offered the 6-foot-3, 280-pounder. His father Dave, played at Syracuse and spent nine years in the NFL with the Rams, Patriots and Browns.

Wohlabaugh is Ohio State's 11th recruit in the class of 2016 and the second offensive guard, joining IMG Academy and Portsmouth, Ohio-native Tyler Gerald as verbal pledges. The Buckeyes could take as few as three offensive lineman in 2016 and with a likely late April decision coming from St. Ignatius (Cleveland, Ohio) tackle Liam Eichenberg they could have the entire group sorted out by May 1.
