Very sad news to pass along.
John Adams, who along with his bass drum, was an absolute fixture in the left field bleachers at Municipal Stadium, then Jacobs Field, and then Progressive Field - passed away this morning at 71.
He had an almost 50 year run as the Indians' rallystarter. He was an iconic presence in my adolescence and my adult life. Tribe games were so much more fun because of him.
