Defensive back Bradley Roby intercepted Tom Brady's potential game-tying pass on a two-point play attempt in the AFC Championship game on Sunday, and the former Ohio State Buckeye is headed to the Super Bowl.
It was the second consecutive week in the playoffs that Roby caused or created a turnover from a former Michigan Wolverine, and that fact was not lost on him or Buckeyes fans.
In last week's matchup with Pittsburgh in the AFC division round of the playoffs, Roby knocked the ball away from Steelers running back Fitzgerald Toussaint - a former Wolverine - in the fourth quarter. The fumble was recovered by Denver's DeMarcus Ware, and the Broncos converted on the next drive for the go-ahead touchdown in their 23-16 victory over Pittsburgh.
On Sunday, Talib tipped the pass from Brady - another former Michigan Wolverine - but Roby was there to gather it in and seal the victory.
One of the receivers for the Carolina Panthers is former Wolverine Devin Funchess, so perhaps Roby will get the chance to get turnovers from a Wolverine in three consecutive playoff games.
Here's the tweets for those who twitter:
Back to back weeks Bradley Roby forces a late game turnover against a former Michigan player. I take great joy in that fact.
