What do you guys think of Oregon's recent surge in recruiting, with Phil Knight as the catalyst for Oregon's NIL?
Birm is reporting that Oregon is going to sign Chris Henry. This article isn't necessarily about him, but more about the juggernaut that Oregon is quickly becoming in the recruiting world.
Oregon's NIL money is starting to get out of control. Oregon signs whoever they want with the kind of money they are throwing around. Before NIL, Oregon was an average to above average team, typically in the 10-20 range in recruiting. Now if they actually sign Henry, this will be the 2nd year in a row as the #1 team in average recruits points.
Here are the recruiting ranking based on average recruit points since 2017 (I was not motivated this late to compile further), for those that are curious, I listed OSU's ranking too:
2017: 22nd 87.24 (OSU 1st 94.59)
2018: 17th 89.18 (OSU 1st 94.29)
2019: 11th 90.85 (OSU 3rd 92.02)
2020: 13th 90.44 (OSU 5th 91.93)
2021: 7th 92.48 (OSU 2nd 95.05)
2022: 12th 90.78 (OSU 3rd 94.17)
2023: 13th 90.90 (OSU 3rd 93.91)
2024: 5th 92.19 (OSU 3rd 92.79)
2025: 1st 94.35 (OSU 5th 92.46)
2026: 2nd 93.29 (OSU 6th 91.83)
As far as Henry, it seems OSU is offering really good money for him, but Oregon is offering an obscene amount of money that OSU is not willing to match for a freshman (not named Jeremiah Smith). AtoZsports published an article detailing this if you want to read up on it.

Also, please take a moment to upvote my article, it seems my serial downvoters want to shut this article down.
