Could you imagine if Ryan Day lost the Rose Bowl by 20 points last year and then turned around and lost the peach bowl by 44 this year in playoff games ? 

Well, that’s exactly what Dan Lanning did in consecutive years at Oregon, and yet for some reason you never hear the “can’t win the big one” narrative from the finebaum’s or the Macafee’s or the Oregon fanbase for that matter.  Why is he untouchable where Ryan Day would be ripped up and down ?  is it just that the OSU job is such a crucible ?
