There's no shame in losing to a motivated and very talented Bama team, but what's up with UGA?  In 2022, Kirby looked to be on the brink of surpassing Saban and becoming a dynasty.  While they had a very strong 2023 season, last year was a disappointment and they just don't look the part this year.  Kirby is a defense guy......but their defenses don't intimidate anybody anymore.  And their offense refuses to modernize.

Was Lanning the real power behind those elite UGA defenses?  Was Stetson Bennett THAT important to their offense?

Or perhaps NIL evened the playing field?

Whatever the case, UGA offers a cautionary tale.  You can be on top of the world one moment, but building a dynasty is really, really tough.  And if there's a program right now that seems best positioned to do it post-Saban, it's Ryan Day and this program.

The consistency is off the charts.  Elite offenses.  And now elite defenses.  Coordinators come and go, but the train keeps rolling.  We still may drop a game (or two), but with the youth on this roster, this is a machine going forward.  A ways to go before we start talking "dynasty".  And perhaps in the NIL world, no single program will do it.  But it's all the more reason to appreciate what we have while we have it.  Because if you ask UGA fans, many of them see their time at the top fleeting.....and you never know when it'll all disappear.  Ask Dabo.
