Happy Monday, Eleven Warriors!
Three down, nine to go for Ohio State football this season. Too bad we’ll have to wait until near the end of the month for the Buckeyes’ first road trip of the season against Washington.
Thankfully, the chaos of college football never takes a break during the fall. Bearing that in mind, let’s consider for This Week’s Question: which week 4 game do you most look forward to watching with Ohio State on bye?
I expect Illinois vs. Indiana to be a popular answer given it’s not only a ranked matchup between Big Ten teams, but also the game that most people expected College GameDay to tag as its destination next weekend as clearly the most consequential matchup on the slate. In fairness to the ESPN crew, I’ll hardly judge anybody for taking a trip to Miami over Bloomington.
But I am nothing if not someone that enjoys a good hate watch of Michigan, which is why last night’s festival of field goals during Sunday Night Football proved to be such a treat as J.J. McCarthy struggled mightily in defeat. As a Bears fan, it also helped wash the taste out of my mouth of that ridiculous choke job on Monday Night Football last week.
Therefore, the Michigan/Nebraska game has to be my answer for can’t-miss matchup of Week 4 as a Buckeye fan. Dylan Raiola’s desperation to live in Patrick Mahomes’ skin may irritate everyone, but the Cornhuskers still offer one of the toughest environments to visit in all of the sport. Michigan will be without Sherrone Moore for another week and Bryce Underwood did not handle his first road game at Oklahoma very well. I think the prospect of a Big Red win looks quite good, and I’m already on record having stated on the Dubcast that I expect Michigan to lose its next three road games.
But what about you? Which matchup on the slate this week most piques your interest with the Buckeyes on bye?
