It seems like we have a new Quarterback coming in this class as a preferred walk-on, being Washington Court House (OH) Miami Trace’s Trey Robinette.
From what I’ve seen, this was first reported by the Record Herald in Washington C.H. (https://www.recordherald.com/2025/06/13/mts-trey-robinette-to-walk-on-at...), and it lists him as our 5th Quarterback. However, from what I’ve counted, we have
- Julian Sayin
- Lincoln Kienholz
- Tavien St. Clair
- Eli Brickhandler (Houston Christian Transfer)
- Jaystin Gwinn (Another PWO and legacy)
So it appears Robinette would be our 6th Quarterback. From the article, he had originally committed elsewhere due to the new walk-on limitations, but then Ohio State called and said they had room for him. He’s 6’4” 190 lbs.and a 3 year starter for the Panthers, so I’d say this is a good depth addition and a hometown (or home state I guess) player, in the same vein as Chad Ray or Mason Maggs.
Pretty cool to see we can still take walk-ons like this even with the new rules!
