In case you missed The Weekender yesterday, ESPN had a panel of a dozen analysts rank the top 10 coaches in college football last week. Ryan Day earned the No. 2 spot — up from 10th overall last year — while Kirby Smart remains atop the list.
For This Week’s Question, let’s create a more simplified set of rankings focused on just the top five. Who and how would you rank the five best coaches in college football?
My top five looks like this:
- Kirby Smart
- Ryan Day
- Marcus Freeman
- Dan Lanning
- Kyle Whittingham
I don’t share the same rosy opinions about Dabo Swinney, Steve Sarkisian, Kalen DeBoer or that ESPN does. Anybody that listens to The Eleven Dubcast already knows how I feel about Frames Janklin.
