Got into an interesting debate today on which programs are “Blue Blood” programs in the NIL era.
I decided to create some rationale for the discussion and arrived on the following four “BB Factors” assigning a 25% scoring for each. They are:
1. Brand History (recognition, win/loss %, championships, etc.)
2. “Destination” Program (consistent draw for top coaches/elite players to win & improve their CFB legacy or NFL prospects)
3. Facilities, stadium, town, and supportive fanbase (this is different from “brand” in that this measures “actual” experience in the program or college town)
4. NIL (well-designed NIL program with access to deep financial resources)
Given the above criteria, my Top 10 are the following which aren’t necessarily in exact order, but probably pretty close:
1. Bama
2. UGA
3. OSU
4. MICH
5. ND
6. USC
7. PSU
8. FSU
9. LSU
10. UT
Second Tier:
1. OREGON
2. OKLA
3. UCLA
4. TAM
5. FLA
