Happy Monday, Eleven Warriors!
Last time I posted This Week’s Question, a report had gone out about the Big 12 preparing to sell its naming rights to Allstate, so I asked how you would rename the Big 10 with a sponsor under similar circumstances. I can only dream of a day when Ohio State plays in Victoria’s B1G Secret Conference.
Fast forward to today, according to an interview posted yesterday that Ross Bjork gave to the Toledo Blade, when asked if there was a tasteful way for Ohio State to sell the naming rights to the Horseshoe, Bjork responded, “maybe…. At this point in time, you can never say never on anything. You have to put everything on the table, and then you evaluate it and make the best decision for the institution.”
So if we assume that Ohio Stadium will put its own name up for sale at some point in the future, then for This Week’s Question, let’s ask ourselves: If Ross Bjork sells the naming rights to Ohio Stadium, what sponsor would you want for the new name?
Keep in mind that the field inside the stadium itself already has Safelite as a sponsor, so the windshield repair gurus are probably off the table. If you are a regular Dubcast listener, you already know I’m jumping at the chance for the Buckeyes to play at Waffle House Stadium. Teams across the country are going to dread the thought of having to play at THE Waffle House.
But what about you? What sponsor would you slap on the Horseshoe in the interest of selling out?
