I think not having Harbaugh actually worked to Michigan’s advantage. The interim coach came out swinging with nothing to lose, and probably called a much more aggressive game than what would have happened with JH there to pump the brakes. He made decisions like an underdog that needed every break, and made those breaks happen. That is the difference in the game to me. It wasn’t a huge talent gap, or scheme, it was as just OSU playing it too safe, and it’s now officially a trend in big games. I still support Day, but I’d like to see the pissed off version of him become the default setting. He hasn’t been the same since the “hang 100” comments became public.
