Mitchell Melton ranks #23 on the OSU defense in number of snaps played this season (35 total snaps). ...... He ranks #3 on the OSU defense (behind only Tyliek and JT) in tackles for loss, with 3. I know that's a crazy-small sample size, in mop-up situations. But having more TFLs than some of our starters in 10-15% as many snaps jumped off the page to me.

There have been a few times in the past couple years when the coaches really talked up Melton, but he couldn't stay healthy. Here's hoping our already-good defense has another weapon to unveil down the stretch.
