This past week Day stated that Dallan Hayden "is ready to go", but "they were in conversation" about not burning a year of eligibility for someone to only get to play a little bit in "5 or 6 games", but Hayden "is practicing and is a good player and is ready to go".
He played the kid when Hayden's number came up. He didn't keep him on the sideline. When will we stop acting like this is a story, or that Day did something wrong with the comments he made? He obviously was speaking in hypotheticals, answering a question during a press conference in a fairly generic way, and when the situation changed he changed along with it.
I understand that every word the head coach says is going to be dissected and critiqued and overanalyzed, but this is a non-story in my opinion. If Hayden is the best back available he is clearly going to be utilized.
