So many comments about people not caring that Day is 45-5 and wins 90% of his games since they say, "we have played and won against so many bad teams".
Well, let's just look at his record vs the rivals and top blue chip programs:
Alabama 0-1
Clemson 1-1
ND 1-0
Oregon 0-1
PSU 4-0
Washington 1-0
TTUN 1-2 * would have been 2-2 if it weren't for the Covid forfeit
Total 8-5 (excluding Wisconsin)
Wiscons. 3-0 (we beat them twice in 2019 when they were top 10)
Total 11-5
So depending on whether you want to include Wisconsin as a rival or top team (they were top 10 in 2019 when Day beat them twice) he is either 11-5 (wins 69% of those games) or 8-5 (62% winning percentage).
Those are extremely good results against our rivals and top competition. He is also undefeated against all of our other competition. As we know even with Urban and Tressel it's very hard to win all of those games every season.
The jury is still out on Ryan Day after the last 2 collapses vs TTUN but his record over his first 4 years is excellent. There really are just 2 coaches in CFB with better track records than Ryan Day - Saban and Dabo. I would say that right now Day is still ahead of Lincoln Riley.
Everyone should think long and hard before they try and run Ryan Day out of town. That's a quick way to end up like FSU, Texas, A&M, Auburn, etc..
