Our win yesterday was pretty impressive given that Fields was so limited due to his knee.  It really took away a huge element of our 2019 offense.  Everyone knew he was going to hand off about every time on the zone read so they could totally key on Dobbins.

It also took away his long scrambles on 2nd and 3rd and long.  We have been burning teams all year on those plays and it wasn't a factor yesterday.

Hopefully he's back to 100% for the playoffs.

Great points.

3 undefeated teams that all look very good.  No head-to-head games between them and only one common opponent and that was Texas A&M (LSU and Clemson).

3 and 4 should be relatively easy for the committee.

OSU vs LSU for #1 and #2 is a coin flip.

Surprised it doesn't happen more often with the number of long haired players these days.  It was awesome to see that tackle.  Probably wasn't so awesome to be tackled like that though.

If I were him I'd cut that shit off.

Urban is an awesome college coach, we were very lucky to have him.

I don't see him as a successful NFL coach though.  The read option in the NFL isn't going to go so well.   If he does go there maybe he can bring in JT and Tebow as his QB  /s

I would love to see them vs Florida and watch scUM lose to them again...lol

Even though Bama is a shell of their usual self scUM fans probably realize it would be another one-sided, embarrassing loss.

They keep saying they don't want another "SEC school/Florida bowl game" but what they are really saying is they want an easier opponent out west in the Holiday bowl.

Those fans really are a badly beaten dog at this point.

If we do drop to #2 ( I hope we don't) it may set itself up just like when we won the championship last time...

Playing Clemson (probably the toughest and most complete of the 3 teams we could face)-- the equivalent of that year's Alabama.

Following that up vs an offensive juggernaut in LSU who doesn't seem to play a lot of D - - the equivalent of that year's Oregon.

They are pure as the driven snow.  They lose the right way.

They have never, ever cheated or violated any rule.  They are all scholars and intellectuals.

Those 2 players yesterday that held Dobbins foot, untied his shoe and pulled it off so that he would miss a play or two weren't really doing that or cheating at all.   We just paid off the refs to invent it and frame them.

I'm amazed at the thread over there that says they can't compete with us so they should either move The Game to earlier in the season when the loss won't be so impactful (strange and disconnected logic) or they should move to the B1G West so they don't have to play us every year.

They went from chest pounding charlatans who used to justify 3 score losses to us saying "if you just change the outcome of these 3 or 4 plays we would have won that game" to outright quitters waiving the white flag.

Were you the guy in The OSU National Champs sleeveless Tshirt at the gym holding the two 45lb olympic plates above your head and asking people to punch you in the abs??

If so, I gotta think that qualifies as proper pre-game prep.

Comment 29 Nov 2019

I guess as fans we should be doing something else to properly prepare for The Game?   A few sets of squats?  Some power cleans? Military presses?  Wind sprints?  Is that ok or what?

I'm going to put Finebaum in a headlock choke hold until he admits he's a snivelling little bitch.

When I was a kid some of my cousins moved out to LA and became obnoxious fans of LA teams -- USC, the LA Rams, Dodgers, etc.. They would come back at the holidays bragging about how great those teams were and how much Cleveland and Ohio State sucked.

I got sick of that crap and started beating them up (I was like 9 or 10 at the time).  I'd get them in headlocks and their tap-out was saying "the Buckeyes and Indians are great"..Probably not my proudest or best moment but for a 4th grader it seemed to make sense.

So there's an option for you...   You could go around Ohio and put all the scUM fans in choke holds until they tap out and promise to become Buckeye fans.      /s

Some people think that we are absolutely killing it in recruiting with 3 of the class's top 5 WR's committing to us.  I think it's even a better sign that our recruiting is so red hot, on fire that one of our linebacker commits is actually "melton".

Comment 19 Nov 2019

I feel pretty good about us winning by 3 scores or more so long as the weather isn't rainy/snowy and as long as Fields has a decent game.

Even though I think PSU is much better than scUM I am a lot more concerned with scUM.  Playing scUM in Ann Arbor after the beat downs we have been giving them is making me nervous.  I have to think they have a lot of scheme changes for that game that will be surprises.  Jimmy and Don Brown have to be very embarrassed by last year's game so I think they will show us a lot of new looks on D and really try and open up their offense with 4 and 5 receiver sets, rub-routes, rolling-out Shea to buy him time, etc..

Comment 18 Nov 2019

Is that clear enough for you or am I being obtuse?

Comment 17 Nov 2019

Exactly the point.  I didn't say the top of the SEC is bad, it's just that none of their top 4 teams have really played anyone outside of playing with themselves.

Same goes with pretty much all of the top teams regardless of conference...no one really scheduled tough out of conference games this year so none of us can really know how good any of these top teams are until the bowls and playoffs.

You can say, LSU's D looks pretty shaky but we won't know if that's just because some of the SEC offenses are really, really good or if their defense isn't so good.  Same with us, our D looks great but maybe the offenses we are playing aren't all that good.

I feel pretty good about our team and our chances against anyone we play but we won't know until all of the games have been played.

Comment 16 Nov 2019

The best out of conference win by any of those top SEC teams is either LSU's close win vs 4 loss Texas or Uga's close win vs Notre Dame.   That's less than impressive.

Those SEC teams haven't shown anything yet vs top out of conference opponents so I honestly don't know how good they really are.

That seems to be the problem with this new championship system, teams aren't playing tough out of conference opponents since it just hurts their chance of making the playoffs.

Here's what my ballot would look like but I suspect Bama and UGA will be rated higher by the committee on Tuesday.  My view is Bama and UGA lost, they should drop below the undefeated P5 schools.

1. LSU (Better wins than OSU right now)
2. OSU
3. Clemson
4. Minnesota (undefeated B1G team this late in the season should be ahead of 1 loss teams IMO)

5. Baylor (undefeated Big 12 team this late in the season should be ahead of 1 loss teams)

6. Bama (they will be ranked higher because of the SEC but they should be behind the undefeated P5 schools right now)

7. Oklahoma

8. PSU

9. Georgia

10. Oregon

Tressel was pre-Meyer and I would take him and his teams 8 out of 10 times vs Jimmy

I was at their bowl game a couple of years ago and the Badger fans are tremendous.  We joked about the OSU/Wisky rivalry but they it was all good natured.

They have a very good program, a system that works for them and die-hard fans.  I root for them every game except when they play us.

Comment 21 Oct 2019

I agree, they should throw the 1st pass in the next game to Bell.

If he drops it, they should definitely booo his ass and send him some constructive tweets about him being a bitch.           /s

Michigan was able to beat us because we had average coaches at OSU in the 1990s.  Cooper was a great recruiter, bad game day coach.  He had talent but couldn't coach it properly.

Average coaches beat crappy teams and teams where they have a sizable talent advantage.  They hardly ever beat teams with equal or better talent.

That's why Cooper couldn't beat Michigan in the late 80's and 90's and couldn't win bowl games.

It's also why Harbaugh can't beat us.
