Birm and Landis review the game. They ask good questions. Birm asks them like a knowledgable fan. Landis watched the film and had some insight.

Lot's of good stuff in the video...but this seems to be THE most relevant discussion:

Is Ryan Day too stubborn/prideful? His pro-style offense doesn't adjust. Seems predicated on making difficult NFL throws down the field instead of taking what the defense gives and trust athletes to make plays.  (This is a question many here have asked).

Ryan Day is a brilliant offensive mind...but is he too stubborn? Is he too prideful? In other words... Is he like Matt Nagy or Kyle Shanahan?  Does he want to force a QB to run his system and expects his play calling and design will always work?

I actually have this concern. It's human nature to trust what you're very good at and hard to be humble and adjust to realities. For example, in THEORY bubble screens work. In REALITY they don't work well for us THIS year because our perimeter blocking sucks. In THEORY, going vertical stretches a defense (esp. when you have a QB who makes NFL throws) but in REALITY, teams are playing to take away those deep shots now.

Finally, the point to how URBAN adjusted after his offense got stale.  First, he went out and hired Tom Herman. When it got stale again, he went out and hired Ryan Day. Urban... as prideful and stubborn of a human as you'll ever meet... was humble enough to know that his offense was figured out and went out and got the best person to fix it. IF Ryan Day can do this...I think we're good, great even.

Thing is, Ryan Day TRIED to give up his baby once and hired a really good O-coordinator in Mike Yurchich. And he sent him packing after one season... the 2019 season, where our offense was amazing. Ryan has to give up being the O-coordinator. He must become the CEO.
