Saturday for me marked then end of the Golden Era of OSU football

From 2001 to 2020 as many know we were 17-2 vs UM, had won 2 national titles, played for 3 others, with 2 other playoff appearances and another division title and another 12-0 team that was not allowed to play post season.

We had won or shared 12 conference titles in those 20 years and won another division and again the 12-0 2012 team

This included 11 of the last 15 conference titles we were eligible to win.

By losing to UM as badly as we have the last 2 years, we are no longer the class of the conference, they are...

So here are a few things to think about,,

1) first home loss to UM since 2000 under John Cooper 22 years ago

2) first back to back losses to UM since 1999/2000 again under Cooper 22 years ago

3) First time OSU has allowed 42+ points in back to back games EVER IN THE SERIES

4) In Fact UM had only scored 42 or more 3 times in the series, 1946 when they won 58-6 and 1943 when they won 45-7 and 1902 when they won 86-0

5) it was the 2nd most points allowed at home in the history of the series (again 1946 or 76 years ago)

6) The first time we have lost back to back games by more than 14 each game (15 last year and 22 this year) since 1946/47 when we lost 58-6 and 21-0 (75 years ago, ie pre-Woody)

7) the 3 other losses in the 2000's (2000, 2003 and 2011) were by a total of 32 points, the last 2 losses have been by 37

8) the last game where UM beat us by more than 22 points was in 1993, where we lost 28-0 in Ann Arbor , ie 29 years ago

9) these 2 games were the most points allowed by OSU in back to back game in the history of the series (87), since prior to 1903, Not counting those earliest blow out losses, the previous record was 79 in 1946/47

10) last time UM beat us in Columbus by more than 21 points was in 1976 when they beat us 22-0 (46 years ago)
