Evening all, and happy THE GAME Week!
I was talking with coworkers in NW Ohio today about OSU's gameplan for UM, and as you probably know, this is a very split 50/50 fanbase with regard to OSU or UM. I've been advocating that OSU will come out guns blazing to stop Corum/UM run game, and dare McCarthy to beat them with his arm, as I believe he hasn't shown an ability to make all the throws necessary if their run game isn't working. Our corners seemed to play with large cushions vs Maryland, I'm hoping Knowles planned that and it wasn't an indictment on their ability to play press coverage.
On the offensive side, I'm still not sold on our offensive line in the run game, and we're already thin on RB depth as is. I'm expecting a ton of short slants, bubbles, and crossing routes so CJ can get the ball out to avoid UM's pass rush. Hopefully we can get the run game going to open up play action, but we'll have to wait until Saturday to see. CJ is now on tape with designed QB runs and read options, so I can't imagine Day has too many more tricks up his sleeve with the QB run.
Any hot takes? Will we see a Bear Front vs UM at some point? Will Knowles switch from his typical 3 safety look to a more traditional 2 high with an extra linebacker?
Go Bucks and beat the shit out of Xichigan!!!!!
