I could search for information on the interwebz but I’d rather talk about the differences between the two tackles of Justin fields and Rocky “Glass Chin” Balbowha-teverhisnameis.
Obviously I’m ignorant about the rules therein, but the clear difference that I saw between the two tackles was the possession of the ball. The announcer was screaming foul play! “Where’s the equal protection for both players?”
I think both were ruled fairly. The no penalty call was due to the fact that Rocky still had the ball and the play was live. Justin released the ball and was driven to the ground after the fact. Are these not the extenuating circumstances by which the call was ruled? Are football players not supposed to drive their opponent into the ground when they carry the ball? Is this not tackle football 101?
I'm just slightly confused. The announcer talked like the plays were comparing apples. I just see them as something different. I’m interested in your opinions.
BTW-I wish Rocky health and happiness in spite of my playfulness with his name.
