This is never going to happen, but can you imagine if they established a college football season similar to what the ACC is proposing for basketball?

Imagine starting the season as a playoff for each conference.  There would be no seeding, and initial team matchups could be randomly selected.  The winners of each conference playoff would then move on to a CFB playoff bracket and play each other for the national championship.  

I feel like this would be the most desired scenario from both a fan and safety standpoint.  The primary reason is you would eliminate 50% of teams from competition each week and this would ultimately significantly reduce the potential for COVID cases.  Also, just think about the potential matchups you would see week in and week out.  This would also allow the non-P5 conferences to actually have chance to win the national championship, and could set up a potential cinderella scenario for college football.

I know this won't happen, but one can dream right?
