A lot of talk goes into Nattys. I care about being the winningest program, the most consistently good team. Taking all time fbs win % from Michigan made The Game that much sweeter. I hope that I am alive by the time we pass TTUN in total wins and sober enough to witness the parade that follows.
Whether or not we can play for a Natty, this statistic matters to me, and it should to you as well. This is true in 2020, as it was in 2015, 2017, & 2018. Texas and Alabama are scheduled to play at least 10 games. Alabama has the potential to win 12. That will put us up to 4 wins behind Bama. When was the last full bama season that had less than 11 wins? Without some sort of big ten season, Best case doomsday scenario we tie them with our best (15win) season while they have their worst (11).
This is mainly a PSA about my opinion, but Keep this win count in mind when you want to hate on Spring or winter football and say things like "why bother if not for a natty". Did have this attitude for our last rose bowl?
