Ohio State running back Master Teague III has been named to the watch list for the Wuerffel Trophy, which honors “college football players who serve others, celebrate their positive impact on society, and inspire greater service in the world.”
Entering his third year with the Buckeyes, Teague has made a name for himself not only with his play on the field but also with his character off the field. Teague has been known to share positive messages on social media – even this offseason while rehabbing from an Achilles injury – and serve as a role model for children, such as earlier this year when he recorded a video of himself reading the children's book, “Miss Nelson is Missing.”
Teague is one of 114 nominees for the Wuerffel Trophy. Ohio State has one previous winner of the award, Joel Penton, who became the second-ever recipient of the Wuerffel Trophy in 2006.
