This is uhh...yeah...
1. James Franklin, Penn State
2. Ryan Day, Ohio State
3. Jim Harbaugh, Michigan
4. Kirk Ferentz, Iowa
5. P.J. Fleck, Minnesota
6. Paul Chryst, Wisconsin
7. Pat Fitzgerald, Northwestern
8. Scott Frost, Nebraska
9. Greg Schiano, Rutgers
10. Jeff Brohm, Purdue
11. Tom Allen, Indiana
12. Lovie Smith, Illinois
13. Mel Tucker, Michigan State
14. Mike Locksley, Maryland
They get the bottom three right, but Brohm and Allen should be higher, Frost should be lower, and I would swap Ferentz with Chryst.
As for Franklin being ahead of Ryan Day? I don't see it, at all.
You could argue that experience matters, which is fine, but in terms of accomplishments, they each have 1 Big Ten title, the only difference is that Ryan Day got his after 1 try, versus Franklin who has the one title after seven years. In terms of potential (which seems to be how a lot of these coaches are being ranked, like Schiano who used to be a good HC but hasn't been one in years, or Frost who was great at UCF but has done all of nothing at Nebraska) it's not even close. Not a single AD, except maybe PSU's, would choose to hire Franklin over Day, not one.
