Based on a recent article from ESPN, they predict the next NC game from recruiting rankings. The metric they used are:
1. ESPN 300 QB on roster
2. At least one 5-star recruit in each of the last 3 classes
3. Averaged a top 10 class over the past 4 cycles (this reduces the pool significantly)
4. Signing at least 1/3 of the ESPN 300 each year from your home state
5. Signed at least 5 top 50 defensive players in the last 5 years
6. Have the best incoming class in the country in your conference
Spoiler...that puts the next title game as Bama/Clemson again. I think this has a number of potential issues, but I think it does paint a good picture of the top 6-8 teams likely to get a playoff bid. Beyond the two obvious ones it gives OSU, UM, UGA, & LSU a good shot at making the playoffs. What do you think?
