Like many I'd assume, I didnt know much about Mike Yurcich. When his name his came up I made sure to tune into Ok St's bowl game and I have to say, I was pretty impressed by his offense. So I decided to look at the stats and his resume.
His resume: He's basically been a OC/QB coach his whole career dating back to 2000. He's been at Ok St from 13-18 and he was a Broyles Award nomination in 2016 and 2017.
His offense, a lot can be seen from the stats so here they are. 2018 Ok St had 2 backs with Chuba Hubbard who had 124 carries for 740 yards averaging 6 yards a carry and Justice hill who had 158 carries for 930 yards, averaging 5.9 yards a carry. His QB Tyler Cornelius was also 4th in the nation in passing yards with 288/485 (59.4%) 3978 yards. 32 TDS and 13 INT's. Which was good enough for the #9 total offense. They also averaged 38pts a game and 478 yards a game. In the past he's had damn good offenses as well. 2017:#2 2016: #14 and 2015: #24.
Needless to say, Ok St hasnt had the athletes we have so I expect the offense to not skip a beat and I am excited to have him on the staff.
