From January 1973 to January 1976, Ohio State appeared in 4 straight Rose Bowl games. This of course was during the height of the 10 year war between Woody and Bo, but since that time and despite Ohio State being the most successful program in the  B1G, they've only played in 4 Rose Bowls over a 43 year span. That's almost incomprehensible to believe. Of course there are many reasons why the number is so low. We've been in the play-offs several times plus we've lost many chances to go due to the B1G's rule of if there is a tie for first in the conference, the team who hadn't been there in the longest time went. It's hard to say how many chances we missed out on, but it still is remarkable this will only be out fifth appearance in 44 years.
