What if Joe Burrow Had Stayed?

Assuming the Dwayne Train departs the station and we do not land one of the myriad options in the Grad Transfer lottery market, our QB room is left a little bare. Yes we have Tate "The Hammer" Martell and Mathew Baldwin and some guy no one has barely heard of named Chugonov in the room, but that is not ideal. Having Matthis flip at the 11th hour leaves us in a difficult situation for 2019.

But let's not forget, this all started back in May 2018. We had QBGeddon 2.0 with Dwayne and Joe Burrow battling it out for the 2018 QB slot. Many of us even thought Burrow outplayed Haskins in the spring game and had a shot at the job, only to see him become a free agent grad transfer last season.

Burrow changed his name to Jeaux and moved south to LSU where they run a Bollman-esque offense in which he performed moderately well leading his team to some major wins over Miami, Auburn and UGA. Make no mistake, he is the real deal, and could have been a successful QB at Ohio State if he wasn't behind arguably the greatest passer we have seen in Columbus.

So it begs the question, did Joe leave too early? Could 2019 have been his year? What would it have looked like if he had stayed? Is he better off as a 2 year started in Baton Rouge with that system than possibly a 1 year stint in Day's offense?
