With Ohio State's victory Saturday over Michigan, its 7th in a row, Urban Meyer is closing in on a once thought unbreakable record dating back 108 years. Michigan's legendary football coach Fielding Yost won 9 consecutive games against the Buckeyes to start his career in Ann Arbor beginning in 1901 and ending in 1909 with a victory in Ann Arbor. After a 3-3 tie in 1910, Yost went on to win 3 more (1911,1912 and 1918) until the Buckeyes finally defeated the Wolverines outright 13-3 in the 1919 game in Ann Arbor. All told, Yost went undefeated against Ohio State in 13 straight games (including the tie in 1910). Urban needs just 2 more victories in a row to equal the consecutive victory streak from over a century ago.
