9 days, 14 hours, 20 minutes, 7 seconds and counting.

As we inch ever closer to The Game, former Eleven Warriors writer Andrew Lind has dropped this nugget of fashion knowledge on this fine Wednesday morning.

Now before we go telling the world to get off our Ohio lawn, let's take a hard look at exactly what this means.

The uniforms look nearly identical to the ones Ohio State previously wore. The sleeves feature the more traditional thick gray and white striping with black trim. The numbers on the shoulder of the uniform will be the bold black digits. The only difference between the 2018 version and the ones worn in 2014 is that the new alternates will be on the newer Vapor Untouchable template, the same template as the black uniforms for the Nebraska game, instead of the older Mach Speed template.

While there are many who believe Ohio State and Michigan should wear their traditional uniforms when the two old rivals meet, this seems to be a happy compromise. Buckeye fans fondly remember the uniforms worn by Ezekiel Elliott, Cardale Jones and company in wins over Alabama and Oregon in the 2014 College Football Playoff. These uniforms are also close enough to the Scarlet and Gray's regular attire that it won't look as glaringly different as it did when Ohio State wore alternate white or gray uniforms against the Maize and Blue.

While this may not elicit a strong response from everyone this morning, let's take this into account before we drop our hottest of takes:

Another thing that might make any Buckeye fans happy is that the Scarlet and Gray are undefeated against the Wolverines while wearing alternate uniforms. As Lind pointed out on Twitter, Ohio State won games in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017, all in alternate uniforms.
