I know there's been a ton of negativity about the team but let's talk about something positive. They finally eliminated those garbage read plays and RPOs that hurt the run game. The run first plays were refreshing to see and the lack of east/west runs on every other run was nice to see too (though we did it on 3rd and 1.. yuck).
I also noticed some new wrinkles such as an extra Olineman and 1-2 TEs as lead blockers. Inherently , our spread offense left us with a man disadvantage in the box and has made running the football difficult without a running QB as an extra option in the run game.
I understand this is Nebraska but damn i was really demoralized when we couldn't run against freaking Minnesota, Indiana & Purdue.
Overall I'm quite pleased with the adjustments we made to the run game. Time for some optimism folks. Let's hope the defense makes adjustments and we swamp michigan state.
